Field Notes in Havana Harness leather with pencil holder (when the pencil is in place it will hold the cover closed).  The cover is approximately 14mm thick at the thickest part and measures 115mm x 150mm.  This cover is sized to accept the readily available Moleskine Cahiers field note journal refill (90mm x 140mm).  A refill will be included in your purchase.
 
This harness leather is vegetable tanned in traditional pits. Once the leather has been tanned it is then hot stuffed with oils and tallows that penetrate through the hide giving a smooth rich colour.  Due to the tanning process this leather is firmer than most and will require 'breaking in' more than other leathers, but with use the cover will reward you with a beautiful depth of colour and patina.
 
The cover pictured has four standard sized credit card slots and a full length slot for reciepts etc.  The cover is stitched at 2.5 stitches per cm in Light Brown (B3). The edges are dyed black and hand burnished.
