Flat watch strap with minimal lug stitching and large perforations in a 60's vintage style in Badalassi Carlo Wax Ortensia leather. The strap is approximately 3.5mm thick throughout.
 
This leather is produced by the world famous Badalassi Carlo tannery in the Tuscany region of Italy. Wax is a 100% pure vegetable tanned leather.  The leather is tanned in a wooden drum using oils and animal fats, through dyed and polished with a roll of amber stone.  The wax is added during the tannage process to provide a distinct pull-up effect.  The tanning tradition for this article is centuries old. 
 
The strap pictured is a 20mm parallel strap with with hand burnished edges.  The strap is hand stitched at 2.5 stitches per cm in Blue (BL3).  Fitted with a contrasting Ortensia Blue 16mm plain free keeper and a brushed thumbnail buckle.
